Pakistan Feeling Cheated, Said – China Did Not Fund Any Project In CPEC

February 16, 2021

Pakistan, which allowed China to use its land against India, now feels cheated. Pakistan says that China has not funded any infrastructure project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative. This information is claimed by the Senate Special Committee on CEC projects.

According to a report by ‘The Express Tribune’, Senator Sikandar Mandru, head of transport planning in Pakistan’s Planning Ministry, said during a committee meeting that some projects, including the Khuzdar-Basima project, were funded from federal financial funds due to lack of CPEC funding. Was being carried out.

Meanwhile, committee member Senator Kabir Ahmed Shahi said that only paperwork was done at CPEC. “The project started in such a way that a tent was fitted with a watchman. The fence around New Gwadar International Airport is a dilapidated building,” he said. In addition, projects have not been initiated under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan.

Let me tell you that in 2015, China announced a USD 46 billion economic project under CPEC in Pakistan. Beijing aims to expand its influence in Pakistan as well as Central and South Asia to counter the influence of the United States and India.

CPEC will connect Pakistan’s southern Gwadar port (626 kilometers, 389 mi west of Karachi) with China’s western Xinjiang region in the Arabian Sea. It also includes plans to build road, rail and oil pipeline links to improve connectivity between China and the Middle East
