Commander Nishant Singh – In Goa Navy Bids Final Farewell With Full Military Honours

New Delhi: Indian Navy fighter pilot Commander Nishant Singh was given a final farewell in Goa with full military honours. He died in a MiG-29 plane crash on November 26, 2020. The commanding officer of the squadron handed over the tricolour and her husband’s uniform to Nishant Singh’s wife, Mrs. Nayab Randhawa on Friday.

Commander Nishant Singh Hawk, son of the naval officer and a qualified flying instructor of the MiG-29 fighter jet. His demise is a major loss for the Indian Navy. He had also received advance strike training with the US Navy. He was a trained climber as well as a skilled sailor.

Nishant Singh, along with his associate commander, flew the MiG-29 fighter jet at 5 pm on November 26. The plane was the victim of a crash in the Arabian Sea. The other piloot had already been found during the search. But he was searched for several days. Nishant’s body was found 30 miles off the coast of Goa after an intense 11-day search operation. The body was found in waters 70 meters deep, which has now been given a final farewell.
