Indo-China Conflict

The conflicts between India and China in Ladakh are centered around the Pangong Tso lake, making it a very important aspect of the border dispute between the two countries.

Line of Actual Control

India’s dispute with China is with the definition of the border between the countries, the Chinese believe that the border is 2,000 kilometers long, while India puts the border closer to 3,500 kilometers.

Through The Lake

The issue with the Tso lake is that the disputed border goes right through the middle of the lake, with both nations disputing how much of the lake the other gets.

Path Of Attack

Most reports believe that the lake lies in the path of a Chinese attack, forcing Chinese forces to trudge along the banks of the Pangnong, instead. China has attacked India via this method before – during the 1962 war – only to lose to the Indian Army.

Tussle

Ever since, there have been tussles along the banks of the Pangong Tso, with both countries facing off on the motorable roads on either side of the boomerang shaped lake.
