REGARDING THE IDC ANALYSIS OF MAHARISHI'S
SUPREME MILITARY SCIENCE –– A Revolutionary Change In The Character Of Military Interventionby David

The
authors salute India Defence Consultants (IDC) for analyzing Maharishiji's
cutting-edge defence technology. We hope this attention to a novel
preventive defence paradigm becomes another "bull's eye" to
IDC's credit and helps to create an invincible military in India. We
agree with the IDC analysis that militaries must have arms. At least
during this dangerous time in human evolution, it would be a most foolish
military strategy to abandon weaponry. Another consideration is that the
much-quoted warrior and strategist Miyamoto Musashi warned that one
"should not have a favourite weapon." For these reasons, we
offer Maharishiji's human resource-based defence technology as part of a
holistic approach to national defense. In
our article we requested only that civilian and defence leaders add a
Prevention Wing of the Military. This military unit would practice the
Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program as a group. This deployment
would be only an addition to conventional military technologies and
strategies, not a replacement. In his book "Maharishi's
Absolute Theory of Defence," Maharishiji proposes that a small
percentage, maybe 1-3% of the military, can serve as a "Prevention
Wing" of the Military. He asserts that by making the whole collective
consciousness of society more coherent, wars can be prevented. This can be
accomplished most easily by the military itself. The result will be to
prevent an enemy from arising. It is fine to increase defence spending,
but India could wisely allocate this small percentage for prevention, and
could immediately measure the effects in reduced conflict with its
neighbors. Such
a Prevention Wing of the Military could also be deployed to any trouble
spot and could carry weapons, right along with their other
comrades-in-arms. However, the wing's primary military duty would be to
create societal coherence. In this way, essentially, Maharishiji's human
resource technology would be an additional "weapon." This weapon
should always be present. Research indicates that, at the minimum, the
technology could reduce fatalities and enhance chances of success if war
should break out. At best, it could prevent armed conflict altogether. We
also agree that, at the present time, arms must be "corralled"
or controlled, that is, limited to a small percentage of the GNP. Perhaps,
in the future, when every nation has deployed a Prevention Wing of the
Military, then civilian and defence leaders might agree that further
reductions are warranted. There
is an example in the Indian
tradition of Ayodhya where there was peace under the rulership of Sri
Ram. Research on over 600 studies on Maharishiji's TM technique shows that
Ayodhya is not a myth, but an attainable reality in our time. Truly,
history has painted a dismal picture of the human condition, but this is a
new (as well as ancient) beginning of an era. Human conflict has only been
inevitable because the human nervous system is full of stress. The normal
functioning nervous system is one of great peace, with the great
creativity, organizing power, and flexibility to be capable of fulfilling
the desires of the individual and society at the same time. The research
shows that it is so. Let us not keep dragging the dead cat, just
continuing with policies and methods of defence that we know do not work.
Let us at least try something new at the same time. The
only thing that can eliminate living in "a Catch 22 situation"
and reign in "the bucking horse" is the principle of bringing in
a second element--creating coherence in India's collective consciousness.
We urge Indian civilian and defence leaders to open the door to a new era
based on their own heritage. Please read and act on the extensive research
conducted on Maharishi's Vedic Technology of Defence. This research shows
that India could move forward while enjoying the comfortable ride that
this consciousness-based technology could provide.
