Police File FIR Against Army Officer
Srinagar:
A piquant situation has arisen with the police registering a case
against the commanding officer of 34 Rashtriya Rifles Col T
Shashidharan, in connection with the raids conducted by the Army on a
police station and CRPF battalion headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir
last week….."
The
above report appeared as a front page headline in Times of India of 28
Sep. IDC had earlier reported in Media Watch that the ARMY in Kashmir
had carried out an identification process in a police station in
Srinagar as it suspected some police personnel to be involved in
terrorist activities.
The
Police have vast powers of arrest and as is often the case, they can
be harassing!
It
is sad to know that the two forces meant to fight the militants are up
against each other.
